Organizational Identity and Identification with the Organization

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je ověření existence vztahu mezi hodnotovým systémem jedince a organizace a potvrzení oprávněnosti tohoto hlediska v teorii zabývající se organizační identitou. Zkoumání konkrétních projevů organizační identity se zaměřením na hodnotovou orientaci jejích členů a míru jejich identifikace s organizací proběhla ve dvou vybraných společnostech. Zkoumání koncepce identity z hlediska hodnotové orientace napomáhá zachytit podstatu toho, proč se lidé stávají členy organizací, proč je dobrovolně opouštějí, proč přistupují k práci určitým způsobem a co předurčuje míru kvality vztahů s ostatními členy organizace.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to verify the existence of the relationship between the individual and organization’s value systems and to confirm the legitimacy of this aspect in the theory of organizational identity. Focused on the value orientation of its members and the degree of their identification with the organization, the research of specific manifestations of organizational identity took place in two selected companies. Examination of the concept of identity in terms of value orientation helps to capture the reasons why people become members of organizations, why they leave them, why they approach work in a certain way, and what predetermines the quality of their relations with other members of the organization.
