Society´s attitude to corporal punishments on children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Postoj společnosti k fyzickým trestům na dětech pojednává o pravděpodobných příčinách trestání dětí jejich rodiči, vychovateli či pečovateli. Práce se zabývá například otázkami, zda je vhodné děti trestat, jaký vliv mají tresty na psychiku dětí, zda lze vychovávat i bez použití fyzických trestů. Práce popisuje nejdůležitější problémy s užíváním fyzických trestů a hledá možnosti sociální pedagogiky při výchově bez trestů. Dále práce pátrá po příčinách tvrdého fyzického trestání a sleduje, jak se jednotliví respondenti s těmito zkušenostmi vyrovnávají a jestli je následně přenášejí do výchovy svých vlastních dětí a výchovy svých klientů (v případě pracovníků v sociálních službách).

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis titled Attitude of society towards corporal punishment against children deals with probable causes of punishing children by their parents, educators or carers. This work deals for example with questions whether it is advisable to punish children, what effect do punishments have on children's psyche, whether it is possible to bring up even without using corporal punishments. This work describes the most important problems connected with using corporal punishments and seeks options of social pedagogy during the upbringing without the punishments. The work also looks for the causes of severe physical punishment and monitors how the individual respondents cope with these experiences and if it is transferred to the upbringing of their own children and to the education of their clients (in case of social services workers).
