Comparison of the efficiency in the selected hotels

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá porovnáním efektivity provozu u vybraných hotelů. Cílem práce je porovnat základní klíčové ukazatele výkonnosti ve vybraných hotelech. Teoreticko-metodologická část se zaobírá uvedením do problematiky této bakalářské práce. Jejími stěžejními částmi je efektivnost podniku kvůli zmíněným vstupům a výstupům, cena a její tvorba, funkce a činnost revenue a yield managementu, ukazatele efektivity a jejich výpočet a benchmarking. V rámci naplnění cíle práce byla v druhé analytické části použita metoda analýzy sekundárních dat a komparace. Analýza sekundárních dat z vybraných hotelů sloužila pro porovnání základních klíčových ukazatelů výkonnosti. Porovnávání bylo primárně založeno na reportech od společnosti STR GLOBAL. Komparace byla použita ke zjištění shod nebo rozdílů ve výkonnosti mezi vybranými hotely. Výsledkem analýzy bylo zjištěno, že z vybraných hotelů byl v rámci porovnávání základních klíčových ukazatelů nejvíce efektivní hotel Andel’s. Hotel Andel’s byl často nejblíže průměru porovnávaného trhu. Pravidelné a správné sledování/vyhodnocování těchto ukazatelů výkonnosti vede k lepší efektivitě podniku a jeho dalších výsledků.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis concerns with the comparison of the efficiency in the selected hotels. The purpose of this work is to compare the key basic indicators of performance for these selected hotels. The Theoretical-methodological part introduces the problems of this bachelorʼs dissertation. Its main parts are the efficiency of the company due to the mentioned inputs and outputs, price and its creation, functions and activities of revenue and yield management, indicators of effectivity and their calculation and benchmarking. In the second analytical part the method of secondary data analysis and comparison was used in order to fulfill the purpose of the thesis. The analysis of the secondary data from chosen hotels was used to compare the key basic indicators of performance. The comparison was primarily based on reports from STR GLOBAL company. The use of comparison was to identify similar or dissimilar performance between selected hotels. It was found out due to the analysis results that in scale of comparison the key basic indicators of performance is that the hotel Andel’s is the most efficient. Andel’s hotel was often closest to the average of the market comparison. Regular and correct monitoring/evaluationing of these performance indicators leads to the better efficiency of the company and it’s next results.
