Use of alternative and augmentative communication in social services

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na systémy alternativní a augmentativní komunikace, konkrétně pak na využívání těchto systémů u lidí s mentálním postižením. Teoretická část práce je rozdělena na tři kapitoly. První kapitola je zaměřena na pojem komunikace, komunikativní kompetence a narušenou komunikační schopnost. Kapitola druhá, se zabývá problematikou alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Jsou zde přiblíženy využívané systémy a možnosti využití alternativní a augmentativní komunikace u osob s mentálním postižením. Ve třetí kapitole je vymezeno mentální postižení a zařízení sociální péče, která jsou určena pro osoby s mentálním postižením. Čtvrtá kapitola je věnována výzkumnému šetření. Jejím obsahem je popis výzkumného vzorku a prostředí, výsledky vlastního šetření a závěry ze šetření. Hlavním cílem výzkumu je analyzovat užívání alternativní a augmentativní komunikace u osob s mentálním postižením a zjistit její roli v komunikačním procesu.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on systems of alternative and augmentative communication, specifically on the use of these systems for people with mental disabilities. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the concept of communication, communicative competence and communication disorder. Chapter Two, deals with alternative and augmentative communication. They are approximated used systems and the possibility of using alternative and augmentative communication for people with mental disabilities. In the third chapter defines mental retardation and social care facilities, which are designed for people with mental disabilities. The fourth chapter is devoted to research. It contains a description of the research sample and the environment, the results of its own investigation and the findings of the investigation. The main objective of the research is to determine the extent of use of alternative and augmentative communication in people with intellectual disability and its impact on communicative competence.
