Incidence of critical congenital heart defects in newborns in 2000-2021

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou kritických vrozených srdečních vad. V teoretické části jsou popsány jednotlivé typy vad, jejich podstata, možnosti detekce a prognóza. Podrobněji je rozvedena problematika prenatálního screeningu a genetického testování. Ve výzkumné části je přehledně uvedena incidence jednotlivých vad v letech 2000-2021 a stanoveny trendy výskytu. Je zhodnocena úspěšnost prenatálního screeningu a vztah prenatální detekce k počtu uměle přerušených těhotenství, ale i počtu katetrizačních intervencí a kardiochirurgických operací.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of critical congenital heart defects. In the theoretical part, individual types of defects, their nature, detection methods and prognosis are described. The issue of prenatal screeening and genetic testing is discussed. In the research part, the incidence of individual defects in the years 2000-2021 is clearly presented and trends in occurence are determined. The success rate of prenatal screening and the relationship of prenatal detection to the number of artificially terminated pregnancies, the number of transcatheter interventions and cardiac surgeries are presented.
