The complex of neo-gothic chapels of Liechtenstein on the Sternberg estate

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat a popsat architekturu novogotických kaplí Liechtensteinů na panství Šternberk z přelomu 19. a 20. století. Práce je zaměřena na objasnění otázky autorství těchto kaplí a rovněž zhodnocení jejich architektury. Podrobněji se zaměřuje na stavitelskou produkci Liechtensteinů na jižní Moravě a na šternberském panství. Součástí je také porovnání dvou představitelů pozdně historizujícího stylu přelomu století z oblasti jižní Moravy a Šternberku. Mimo literaturu vychází práce rovněž z archivního a terénního průzkumu.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and describe the architecture of the neo-gothic Liechtenstein chapels on the Sternberg estate from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The thesis is focused on clarifying the question of authorship of these chapels and also valorization their architecture. It focuses in detail on the Liechtenstein building production in South Moravia and on the Sternberg estate. It also includes a comparison of two representatives of the late-historicizing style of the turn of the century from the area of South Moravia and Sternberg. Apart from literature the work is also based on archival and field research.
