An Analysis of Selected Chinese Wine-producers Specialized in the Production from Grapes

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je co nejpřesněji zmapovat produkci vybraných vinařství v Čínské lidové republice, zaměřených na výrobu z plodů keřů révy vinné. Mezi Českou republikou a Čínou již několik let probíhá obousměrný obchod s vínem. Přesto se dosud v češtině nevyskytuje žádná rozsáhlejší studie o produkci vína v Číně a to ani v obecné rovině. Od 80. let 20. století s otevřením se Číny světu můžeme pozorovat i raketový vzestup zájmu o víno v Číně. Ze statistik provedených mezinárodními organizacemi (např. OIC) vyplívá, že výroba a spotřeba čínského vína explicitně stoupá. Vinná kultura v Číně představuje více než devět tisíci let dlouhou historii. Ta však dosud, nejspíše kvůli špatně dostupným a nedůvěryhodným zdrojům, není ani v anglicky psaných pramenech nijak podrobněji prozkoumána. Tato práce se snaží zaplnit tuto mezeru. Autor se zabývá současnou čínskou vinnou produkcí rozdělující čínská vinařství podle data založení na vinařství vzniklá před rokem 1980 a po roce 1980. Zkoumanými aspekty jsou: druh a typ vína, která tato vinařství produkují a čím jsou charakteristická. Zabývá se podmínkami geografickými a klimatickými, ale zároveň i současnými trendy a tím, jakou funkci mají mezinárodní odborníci a enologové u vybraných podniků. Cílem práce je sesbírat dostatečné množství materiálu k tomu aby bylo možné buď zcela potvrdit či vyvrátit následující hypotézy: 1) V Číně se převážně vyrábí suché červené víno a 2) Vinařství, která založili a dosud v nich působí zahraniční experti, jsou úspěšnější než vinařství bez této zahraniční pomoci.

Abstract:

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to describe the production of chosen companies producing wine from grape vine that are established in the People's Republic of China. Nowadays wine trade between the Czech Republic and the PRC is on the increase. Regardless this fact no comprehensive study focused on wine production in PRC has been written even on an informational level. Since the 1980's with China opening to the rest of the world we can notice significant growth of interest in wine in China. Based on statistics held by international organisations (e. g. OIV) it is clear that the consumption of Chinese wine rises explicitly. Vine culture in China represents more than 2000 years old history. But because of the lack of available and reliable sources in China, it is hard to find good sources even in English, let alone Czech. This thesis aims to fill this gap. The author divides modern wine producers based on time division into companies established before 1980's and after. The research in focused on what kind of wine the individual wineries produce and what is characteristic for them. It examines geographic and climatic condition as well as contemporary trends and what function in selected companies do international experts and oenologists have. The thesis puts great emphasis on determining the beginning and evolution of wineries in China. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to gather enough sources to be able to confirm or disprove following hypotheses: 1) The majority of wine produced in China is dry red wine. 2) Wineries which are run by and in which foreign experts and oenologist are still active are more successful than wineries without them.
