Application of the graduates from the Faculty of Economics at the Prague University of Economics and Business in the labor market between 2010 and 2021

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou uplatnění absolventů Národohospodářské fakulty Vysoké školy ekonomické v Praze (NF VŠE) na trhu práce mezi lety 2010–2021. Cílem práce je odpovědět na otázku, zda mají absolventi NF VŠE vyšší uplatnitelnost na trhu práce v porovnání s celkovou populací České republiky. Teoretická část definuje odborné pojmy z oblasti trhu práce, jako jsou nabídka a poptávka po práci, tržní rovnováha a teorie lidského kapitálu. Teoretickou část bakalářské práce zakončuje přehled studií zabývajících se uplatněním absolventů terciálního vzdělání na trhu práce. V praktické části je použita analýza časových řad pomocí dat z výročních zpráv Vysoké školy ekonomické v Praze z let 2010–2020. Komparační analýza následně porovnává uplatnitelnost absolventů NF VŠE a celkové populace České republiky na trhu práce. Z výsledků analýzy vyplývá, že absolventi NF VŠE se uplatňují na trhu práce lépe než celková populace České republiky, a to jak v parametrech míry nezaměstnanosti, tak v délce časového období, po které si jedinci hledají práci po ukončení magisterského studia.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of the application of the graduates from the Faculty of Economics at the Prague University of Economics and Business in the labor market between 2010 and 2021. The main goal of this thesis is to answer the question if the graduates from the Faculty of Economics at the Prague University of Economics and Business have higher application in the labor market in comparison to the whole population of the Czech Republic. There is a definition of the professional concepts from the field of the labor market in the theoretical part, such as supply and demand for labor, market equilibrium, and the theory of human capital. The overview of studies about the application of tertiary education graduates in the labor market finishes the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis. The practical part uses time series analysis using data from the annual reports of the Prague University of Economics and Business between 2010 and 2021. A comparative analysis compares the applicability of graduates from the Faculty of Economics at the Prague University of Economics and Business and the whole population of the Czech Republic in the labor market. The results of the analysis show that graduates from the Faculty of Economics apply better in the labor market than the whole population of the Czech Republic, both in terms of the unemployment rate and the length of time individuals are looking for a job.
