Philosophical and ethic questions of death

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce propojuje dva obory: bioetiku a neonatologii. Tato problematika pojmenovává a otevírá náročné dilematické situace. Zůstává nevyřešeno mnoho nejasností. Proto se bakalářská práce věnuje filozofickým a etickým otázkám smrti, jež se týkající extrémně nezralých novorozenců. Část práce je zaměřena mj. na vymezení počátku lidského života a hlavních pojmů v neonatologii, na historický vývoj péče o nedonošené děti. Poukazuje na etické a právní aspekty nezralých novorozenců, předkládá možná morální řešení. Uvádí názory významných zahraničních filozofů - Richarda Hara, Petera Singera a Helgy Kuhse. Cílem práce je vytvořit přehledné zpracování problematiky týkající se předčasně narozených dětí, upozornit na nejčastější komplikace, vznikající v důsledku intenzivní péče, která je sice technicky proveditelná, ale její etická podstata je problematická.

Abstract:

The thesis connects two branches: bioethics and neonathology. This issue terms and opens demanding dilemmatic situations. There is still much equivocalness unresolved. That is why the thesis concentrates on the philosophical and dilemmatic issues concerning the death of extremely immature new born babies. The thesis, among others, partly focuses on the limitation of the begin of human life and on the basic terms of neonathology and on the historical development in the care of premature infants. Further, it refers to the ethic and legal aspects of the immature new born babies and offers possible moral solutions. It mentions opinions of prominent abroad philosophers Richard Hare, Peter Singer and Helga Kuhse. The aim of the thesis is to make a clearly organized elaboration of the issue concerning premature infants, to point out to the possible problems emerging in the consequence of intensive care which is technologically possible but whose ethic principle is problematic and to offer possible moral solutions.
