The Dialectal Terminology in the Region of Blanensko (Concerning the Work with Horses, Smithery and Farriery)

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je vytvořit nářeční slovník se zaměřením na terminologii užívanou při práci s koňmi v lesnictví a zemědělství a v kovářském a podkovářském řemesle na Blanensku. Slovníkové části předchází část teoretická, která obsahuje kapitoly sloužící k lepšímu porozumění slovníkových hesel vybraných pracovních odvětví. Úvodní část práce nastiňuje historii řemeslné a zemědělské výroby na Blanensku, způsoby využití koní v lesním hospodářství a v zemědělství, zabývá se také kovářským a podkovářským řemeslem. Následující kapitoly zařazují Blanensko do jižní podskupiny středomoravské nářeční skupiny a charakterizují jeho základní hláskoslovné, morfologické a lexikální nářeční rysy. Další metodologické kapitoly definují cíl a metodu práce, kritéria výběru informátorů, charakteristiku získaného materiálu, způsob zpracování slovníku a strukturu slovníkového hesla. Hlavní část práce tvoří dva slovníky; slovník pojmů užívaných při práci s koňmi v lesnictví a v zemědělství a slovník kovářský a podkovářský. Cílem této diplomové práce je nashromáždit co nejvíce slov vztahujících se k vybraným pracovním odvětvím.

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to create a dialectal dictionary concerning the terminology used in the region of Blanensko when working with horses in forestry and agriculture, also in smithery, and last but not least farriery. The dictionary part is preceded by a theoretic part, which was included for a better understanding of dictionary entries of the abovementioned working sectors. The introductory part describes the history of the craft and farming in Blanensko, the ways of utilizing horses in forestry and agriculture, and it also deals with smithery and farriery. In the following chapters, Blanensko is classified as the southern subgroup of the Central Moravian dialectal group and there are also the characteristics of its basic phonetic, morphological and lexical features. Other methodology chapters define the aim of this thesis and the method used to reach it, the choice of informants criteria, the characteristic of the collected materials, the process of compiling the dictionary and the structure of the dictionary entry. The principal part of this thesis consists of two dictionaries; the dictionary of the terms used in forestry and agronomy, and the dictionary of smithery and farriery. The main purpose of this thesis is to gather a large number of terms related to the chosen working sectors.
