The analysis of moral reasoning and behaviour among youth

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce s názvem ,,Analýza morálního usuzování a jednání u mladistvých" je analýza morálního usuzování a jednání u mladistvých ve věku od patnácti do osmnácti let věku z výchovných ústavů a mladistvých žijících v rodinném prostředí, se zaměřením na studenty středních škol a odborných učilišť. V rámci teoretické části jsou vymezeny pojmy týkající se morálky, morálního vývoje a hodnot. Dále se zaobíráme morálním vývojem, zejména v souvislosti s koncepcí dle Lawrence Kohlberga. V neposlední řadě se věnujeme obecné charakteristice období adolescence a popisem školských zařízení pro výkon ústavní a ochranné výchovy. Výzkumné šetření empirické části je poté zaměřeno na analýzu morálního usuzování a jednání u mladistvých ve věku od patnácti do osmnácti let věku z výchovných ústavů a mladistvých žijících v rodinném prostředí. První skupinu tvořilo 51 respondentů z výchovných ústavů. Naopak druhou 31 respondentů žijících v rodinném prostředí a navštěvujících střední školu či odborné učiliště. Cílem výzkumného šetření bylo zjistit a nalézt odlišnosti v morálním usuzování a jednání u vybraných skupin respondentů. Pro statistické vyhodnocení dat získaných dotazníkovým šetřením byla využita statistická metoda, konkrétně test dobré shody chí-kvadrát. Z vyhodnocení vyplývá, že nebyly zjištěny zásadní rozdíly z hlediska morálního usuzování a jednání u vybraného výzkumného vzorku.

Abstract:

The goal of this bachelor thesis with the name " The analysis of moral reasoning and behavior among youth" is an analysis of moral behavior and reasoning of adolescents aged between fifteen and eighteen years of age living in institutional care in contrast to adolescents living in family environment. The emphasis is on adolescents studying in high-schools and vocational schools. The theoretical part defines the concepts of morality, moral development and development of values. We also deal with moral development, especially in connection with Lawrence Kohlberg's concept. Last but not least, we look at the general characteristics of the adolescent period and the description of the school facilities for institutional and protective education. The research of the empirical part is then focused on the analysis of moral reasoning and behavior among adolescents aged between fifteen and eighteen years of age from institutional care and adolescents living in a family environment. The first group consisted of 51 respondents from institutional care. On the contrary, the other group was consisted of 31 respondents living in a family environment attending a secondary school or a vocational school. The aim of the research was to find differences in moral reasoning and behavior among selected groups of respondents. For the statistical evaluation of the data obtained from the questionnaire survey, the statistical method was used, namely the chi-quadrate good test. The evaluation shows that there were no significant differences in terms of moral reasoning and behavior in the selected research sample.
