Internet-based innovations in interpreting education

Abstract:

The aim of this master thesis is to identify the possible innovations in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting education. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part starts with definition of key terms in the area of interpreting. Then follows the characteristic of interpreting didactics and innovations in this field. The practical part consists of two subchapters. The first is based on a case study, which focuses on glossaries. In the second chapter of the practical part, an experiment is carried out, which examines the problems of electronic translators. Within this thesis were created five didactic recordings that can be used in interpreting education.

Abstract:

Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit setzt sich zum Ziel, mögliche Innovationen im Rahmen des Unterrichts von Konsekutiv- und Simultandolmetschen zu identifizieren und mithilfe von Forschungsmethoden zu verifizieren, ob sie im Unterricht verwendbar sind. Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei Teile und zwar einem theoretischen und einem praktischen Teil. Zuerst werden im ersten Teil die grundlegenden Begriffe des Dolmetschens eingegangen, die Dolmetschdidaktik charakterisiert und im Anschluss daran werden Innovationen im Bereich des Dolmetschens vorgestellt. Der praktische Teil besteht aus zwei Unterkapiteln. Das erste befasst sich mit einer Fallstudie, die sich auf die Problematik der Glossare fokussiert. Im zweiten Kapitel des praktischen Teils wird ein Experiment durchgeführt, das die Problematik der elektronischen Translatoren untersucht. Im Rahmen dieser Diplomarbeit werden fünf didaktisierte Aufnahmen erstellt, die weiter im Unterricht benutzt werden können.
