Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o tvorbě pro violoncello francouzského skladatele Camilla Saint-Saënse. V první kapitole je ve stručnosti představena doba a prostředí, ve kterém skladatel žil a komponoval, a to z hlediska jak politického, tak částečně i kulturního.
