Lektiny jsou skupinou proteinů schopných specificky a reverzibilně vázat sacharidy, přičemž hrají důležitou roli v rozpoznávání molekul a signalizaci. Patogenním organismům často slouží k adhezi na hostitelské buňky a tím způsobují infekci. Abstract:
Lectins are group of proteins with the capacity to specify and reverse bind carbohydrates. Whereas they play an important role in signalisation and molecule recognition. Pathogenic organisms commonly use them for adhesion to a host cell. This usually leads to an infection.
