Communication Skills in the Adult with Combined Handicap

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na komunikační schopnosti dospělé osoby s kombinovaným postižením. Teoretická část pojednává o problematice komunikace, narušené komunikační schopnosti a rozebírá alternativní a augmentativní komunikaci se zaměřením na počítačové programy. Věnuje se mozkové obrně, mentálnímu postižení a možnostem sociální péče. Dále je zaměřena na narušenou komunikační schopnost dysartrii a rozebírá terapeutické postupy v logopedii a dalších oblastech. Práce má kvalitativní charakter. Empirická část předkládá případovou studii dospělé osoby s kombinovaným postižením, která žije v domově pro osoby se zdravotním postižením. Cílem práce je zhodnocení postupů a metod využitých u klienta s kombinovaným postižením. Jako hlavní metoda byla zvolena myofunkční terapie od německé logopedky Anity Kittel. Data byla získána z vlastního pozorování, z rozhovorů se zaměstnanci domova a osobní dokumentace klienta.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on communication skills of the adult with combined handicap. Theoretical part deals with communication, communicative disabilities, alternative and augmentative communication, especially computer programmes. The thesis concentrates on cerebral palsy, mental disorders and social services for the people with impairment. Moreover it outlines dysarthria, therapeutical methods in speech therapy and other fields. The thesis is based on qualitative research. The empirical part presents a case study of the adult with the combined handicap who lives in the Institute for People with Disabilities. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate processes and methods which are used at the client with combined handicap. A myofunctional therapy of german speech therapist Anita Kittel was chosen like the main method. The research part draws upon gathered data from an observation, interviews with employees in the Institute and personal documentation of the client.
