Acanthus - myth in contemporary painting and the use of classical mythology in art lessons

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce řeší problematiku antických mýtů. Jejich využití v současné malbě a uplatnění mytologických námětů antického světa v hodinách výtvarné výchovy na ZUŠ. Cílem bylo vytvoření umělecko-tvůrčí reflexe obrazů vycházejících z mýtů antického světa. Zhodnocení uplatnění mytologických námětů v hodinách výtvarné výchovy. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část se zabývá teorií mýtu. Představuje přístupy současných malířů k mytologickým námětům pro reflexi témat současné společnosti. Druhá část pojednává o přístupech k mýtům ve vlastní malířské tvorbě. Třetí didaktická část má podobu výtvarného projektu. Projekt byl realizován v hodinách výtvarné výchovy na ZUŠ. V této části je vypracována vlastní metodika, pro využití mýtů a mytologických námětů v hodinách výtvarné výchovy.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of ancient myths, specifically their use in contemporary painting and the application of themes from classical mythology in art classes at elementary level. The aim was to create an artistic and creative reflection of paintings based on the myths of the ancient world, and an evaluation of the application of mythological themes in art classes. The work is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the theory of myth, and introduces the approaches of contemporary painters' to mythological themes and how they reflect on contemporary society. The second part discusses approaches to myths in the authors own work as a painter. The third didactic part takes the form of an art project, which was implemented in elementary level art classes. In this part, the methodology for the use of myths and mythological themes in the art lessons is described.
