Tato magisterská diplomová práce pojednává o vyobrazením absurdna v divadelních hrách Toma Stopparda. Výzkum se zabývá analýzou dvou jeho her – Rosencratz a Guildenstern jsou mrtví a Arkádie. Práce analyzuje tyto dvě hry ve spojitosti s absurdním divadlem. Tím se rozumí divadelní hnutí, které se často zabývá konceptem absurdna z pohledu existencialismu. Abstract:
This thesis deals with the depiction of the absurd in Tom Stoppard’s theatre. The research focuses on an in-depth analysis of two of his plays – Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and Arcadia. The thesis analyses the two plays with regards to the significance of the Theatre of the Absurd, a theatre movement commonly understood as dealing with the existentialist concept of the absurd.
