Study of methods for image registration

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá voxel-based metodami registrace obrazu se zvláštním zřetelem na fázovou korelaci a na aplikaci v astronomické fotografii. Cílem práce je tyto metody popsat a prakticky aplikovat prostřednictvím počítačového programu. Algoritmus provádí registraci snímků s ohledem na jejich vzájemné posunutí, pootočení, změnu měřítka a také obecnější transformace. Práce popisuje teoretické základy, tedy Fourierovu transformaci, fázovou korelaci, metody pro redukci šumu a návrh metody pro řešení obecné geometrické transformace. Dále je popsán vlastní algoritmus a příklady jeho užití, včetně testování jeho efektivity.

Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to voxel-based methods of image registration, especially to phase correlation and to application in astronomy photography. The goal of the thesis is to desribe the methods and to put them into a computer program. The algorithm provides image registration with respect to their movement, rotation, resizing as well as general transformations. The thesis desribes theory such as Fourier transform, phase correlation and methods for noise reduction and proposes a method for general geometrical transform solving. Furthermore, the thesis desribes the algorithm itself and examples of its application, including tests of its effectivity.
