Práce se zabývá problematikou možností využití nástrojů geografických informačních systémů k oceňování vybraných rizik v oblasti pojišťovnictví. První část práce se věnuje krátkému obecnému seznámení s jednotlivými druhy rizik a pojištění, které jsou vhodné pro aplikaci GIS a praxi vyhodnocení jednotlivých rizik ve vybraných pojišťovnách.
