Flow monitoring is one of two basic methods of passive network monitoring. Compared to the other, deep packet inspection, has better characteristics in bigger networks or with big amount of transfered data, which is typical for cloud networks. Meranie sieťových tokov je jedným z dvoch základných metód pasívneho monitorovania počítačovej siete. Voči druhému, hĺbkovej analýze paketov, má lepšie vlastnosti pri meraní rozsiahlejších sietí alebo veľkých dátových prenosov, ktoré sú v cloudovom prostredí očakávané.
