Celoživotní dílo spisovatele J. R. R. Tolkiena značně ovlivnilo pohled na současnou fantasy literaturu a vytvořilo zcela nový žánr, který v posledních letech značně nabývá na popularitě. Tato práce je věnována srovnání Tolkienových děl Hobit a Pán prstenů s filmovou adaptací režiséra Petera Jacksona.
