The Development of Motor Skills of Children with Moderate and Severe Mental Disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem rozvoje motoriky u dětí se středně těžkým a těžkým mentálním postižením. Teoretická část nejdříve vymezuje pojem motorika a pojmy, které s ní souvisí. Zaměřuje se na ontogenetický rozvoj motoriky od prenatálního období do školního věku. Dále vymezuje pojem mentální postižení, zabývá se etiologií mentálního postižení, klasifikací mentálního postižení, problematikou kombinovaných vad a možnostmi stimulace a rozvoje motoriky. V závěru teoretické části se zabývá možnostmi výchovy a vzdělávání dětí a žáků se středně těžkým a těžkým mentálním postižením, zaměřuje se na oblast školství i oblast sociálních služeb. V empirické části je popsáno kvalitativní výzkumné šetření. Práce obsahuje analýzu motorických schopností osmi dětí, čtyř dětí se středně těžkým a čtyř dětí s těžkým mentálním postižením. Výzkumné šetření se také zaměřuje na to, zda cíleným rozvojem motoriky může dojít v průběhu osmi měsíců ke zlepšení.

Abstract:

The bachelor´s thesis deals with development of motor skills of children with moderate and severe mental disabilities. The theoretical part first defines the word motor skills and words which are related with it. Then it focus on the description of motor skills norms from prenatal to school-age. After that it defines the word mental disability, deals with the etiology of mental disabilities, describes levels of mental disabilities, then it deals with the issues of combined handicap and stimulation techniques of motor skills. In the end of theoretical part it deals with education opportunities of children with moderate and severe mental disabilities. It focus on education in schools but also on social services. The empirical part describes the qualitative research, which consist of analysis of motor skills of eight children, four children with moderate and four children with severe mental disabilities. Research also focus on the subject if it is possible to uplift motor skills of children by practice.
