Abstract:

Práce obsahuje stručnou teoretickou rešerši o konjugovaných makrocycklech tvaru pásku, skupině intenzivně studovaných sloučenin pro jejich unikátní komplexační vlastnosti možné užití v syntéze karbonových trubek s vysokou uniformitou. Je zde popsána příprava fenantrylen ethynylidenového makrocyklu skládajícího se ze tří fenantrenových jednotek, s možným využitím jako prekurzoru pro dvoukrokovou syntézu molekulárního segmentu karbonové nanotrubky (CNT). Prozkoumala se řada reakčních cest, které měly vést k efektivní přípravě tohoto prekurzoru, využívajíce především Sonogashira cross coupling reakce a chemie fenantrenu. Pokusili jsme se o deplanarizaci tohoto prekurzoru (za účelem plánované nadcházející oxidaci analogické stilbenové fotooxidaci) pomocí reduktivních či oxidativních metod jako například Lindralovy redukce, Wackerovy oxidace či ozonizce. Po několik neúspěšných pokusech deplanarizovat náš prekurzor jsme se pokusili vyvinout syntézu alternativní cílové struktury se stejným strukturním motivem (molekulární segment CNT), ale rozšířeným průměrem přidáním jedné fenantrenové jednotky navíc. Syntéza byla naplánovaná tak, aby nebyla nutná deplanarizace e. i. syntéza měla připravit prekurzor již pro plánovanou stilbenovou oxidaci. Strategie založená na Wittigově reakci je stále ve fázi vývoje.

Abstract:

Brief theoretical review is given that deals with belt-shaped conjugated macrocycles, group of compounds heavily studied for their unique complexing abilities and possible application in synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with tremendous uniformity. Synthesis of planar phenanthrylene ethynylidene macrocycle consisted of three phenanthrene units, which can be a precursor for two step synthesis of a molecular segment of CNT, is described. Few reaction paths toward this precursor (for its efficient synthesis) were explored exploiting mostly Sonogashira cross coupling and chemistry of phenanthrene. Deplanarization of the precursor (for planned subsequent stilbene like photooxidation) was attempted by either reductive or oxidative methods, such as Lindlar reduction, Wacker type oxidation, ozonation etc. After many unsuccessful attempts to deplanarize the triangular precursor, development of a synthesis of an alternative target structure was tried, which would have basically same structural pattern (molecular segment of CNT) but with an extended diameter by adding one more phenanthrene unit. In addition, another synthesis that should provide a structure already bent in a way to undergo stilbene like photooxidation was designed to avoid the deplanarization step. This strategy based on Wittig reaction is still under development.
