Jakub Arbes in the country (the analysis of the novel Anděl míru)

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá komplexní analýzou románu Anděl míru spisovatele a novináře Jakuba Arbesa. První kapitola se snaží vymezit základní terminologii, kterou později aplikujeme na samotnou analýzu díla. V dalších kapitolách se práce zaměřuje na autora, kontext, vztah k vesnickému realismu či genezi díla. V poslední závěrečné části je věnovaná pozornost kompozici, prostoru a času, jazyku a stylu autora, vypravěči i motivům. Jádrem celého rozboru je charakteristika postav románu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the general analysis of the novel called Anděl míru by Jakub Arbes, a writer and journalist. The aim of the first chapter is to define a basic terminology which we used for the analysis of the work. In the following chapters the thesis is concentrated on the writer, context, and relation to rural realism as well as to the genesis of the work. The last chapters are dealing with the composition, setting and time, language and the style of the writer, narrator and motifs. The core of the whole analysis is the characterization of the novel?s characters.
