The evaluation of the geological structure of the subsurface gas reservoir

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá geologickou stavbou a vývojem střední části karpatské předhlubně, a to především na základě studia geologické struktury, skladovacího horizontu a nadloží podzemního zásobníku plynu Lobodice. Na 3D a 2D seismických datech, karotážích a vrtných jádrech byly nejprve popsány horniny podloží, miocenní a pliocenní sedimenty. Na bázi miocenních sedimentů byly rozeznány především dvě gilbertovské delty lokalizované na protilehlých okrajích pánve. Rozeznány u nich byly tři synchronní fáze. Jednotlivé fáze jsou odděleny seismickými stratigrafickými povrchy (SSP). Bázi delt tvoří erozní diskontinuita (SSP1), která je zároveň hranicí sekvenčního cyklu 3. řádu. Během první fáze přínos sedimentů převyšoval tvorbu akomodačního prostoru, což předurčilo progradaci delt v normálním regresním režimu. První fáze je ukončena maximálním regresním povrchem/transgresivním povrchem (SSP2) a interpretována jako trakt nízké hladiny. V druhé fázi převažoval agradační a retrogradační režim delt. Tvorba akomodačního prostoru převýšila přínos sedimentu a fáze byla interpretována jako transgresivní systémový trakt. Třetí fáze je ohraničena povrchem maximální záplavy (SSP3) a odhaluje progradaci delty v normálním regresním režimu, jelikož přínos sedimentu opět převýšil tvorbu akomodačního prostoru. Povrch maximální regrese (SSP4) ukončuje tuto fázi a dovoluje ji interpretovat jako trakt vysoké hladiny. Synchronní vývoj delt je vysvětlen tektonickou aktivitou podél zlomového systému orientovaného kolmo k ose pánve. Pozice delt je rovněž důsledkem stálého přínosu sedimentu a jeho variací. Tektonická aktivita příčných zlomů procházejících přes celou pánev tak překryla znaky reciproční aktivity protilehlých okrajů pánve. Studovaná oblast byla popsána z hlediska tektonických struktur a rozdělena do dvou fází tektonického vývoje – kompresního a extenzního. První fáze je spojena s badenskou kompresní tektoniku - krystalinické horniny podloží byly přesunuty přes spodnobadenská klastika. Přesmyky jsou směru VSV-ZJZ až SV-JZ. S první fází je spojen také horizontální pohyb na východním a západním zlomu (nestavsko-kvasická zlomová linie). V druhé fázi tektonického vývoje, která je interpretována jako extenzní, jsou rozpoznány poklesy s předpokládaným dílčím smyslem pohybu také v horizontálním směru. Porušení bylo interpretováno u badenských jílovců a pliocenních sedimentů. Zlomy jsou ve dvou hlavních směrech, a to SV-JZ až VSV-ZJZ a SZ-JV až SSZ-JJV. Hlavní zlomové linie vykazují dobrou korelaci se směry zlomů v regionu.

Abstract:

The Ph.D. thesis concerns about the geological structure and the evolution of the central part of the Carpathian Foredeep. The thesis is based especially on the study of the geological structure, the gas storage horizon and the caprock sediments of the underground gas storage Lobodice. The basement rocks, the Miocene and the Pliocene sediments are recognized based on the 3D and 2D seismic data, well logs and cores. Moreover, two Gilbert-type deltas with three synchronized phases of development are distinguished at the opposite margins of the basin. Individual phases are separated by seismic stratigraphy surfaces (SSS). The base of the deltas is formed by the erosional discontinuity (SSS1), which is the sequence boundary of the 3rd order cycle. During the first phase, the sediment supply exceeds accommodation space creation and progradation of deltas and the normal regression regime dominates. The first phase is terminated by the maximum regressive surface/transgressive surface (SSS2) and is interpreted as the lowstand systems tract. In the second phase, the aggradation and retrogradation regime of deltas reveals the acceleration of the accommodation space creation and the deposits are interpreted as the transgressive systems tract. The third phase is bounded by the maximum flooding surface (SSS3) and shows progradation of the delta in the normal regression regime, then the sediment supply exceeds the accommodation space. The maximum regressive surface (SSS4) terminates this phase and allows to interpret it as the highstand systems tract. The synchrony evolution of deltas is explained by the tectonic activity along the fault system oriented perpendicular to the basin axis. The position of the deltas is also responsible for continuous sediment supply and its variations. The tectonic activity of the transverse fault system across the entire basin hidden the signals of the reciprocal activity of the opposite basin margins directed by flexural tectonics. The studied area is described in the view of the tectonic structures. Two phases of the tectonic development are recognized – compressional and extensional. The first phase is connected with the Badenian compressional tectonics – crystalline rocks were thrusted over the Badenian clastics. Reverse faults are in the direction from ENE-WSW to NE-SW. Horizontal movements at the east and west faults (Nectava-Kvasice fault zone) are linked with the first phase as well. In the second phase, which is extensional, the normal faults with slight horizontal sense of movement are recognized. The faults affected the Badenian and the Pliocene sediments and in the direction from NE-SW to ENE-WSW and from NW-SE to NNW-SSE. Main faults reveal good correlation with directions of faults in the surrounding area.
