Significance of the EU for The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in chosen areas

Abstract:

Společný vztah Velké Británie a Evropské unie byl formován po více než 40 let vzájemného působení. Po celou dobu docházelo k četným rozkolům v představách o další vzájemné integraci, která se čím dál více prohlubovala. To časem vyústilo v rozhodnutí Spojeného království opustit Evropskou unii, k čemuž došlo v červnu roku 2016. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnotit, nakolik byla dlouhodobě Evropská unie pro Velkou Británii významná a do jaké míry došlo k vzájemnému provázání obou subjektů. Pro naplnění tohoto stanoveného cíle byly vybrány 4 různé okruhy z oblasti britské ekonomiky, na nichž byla provedena dlouhodobá analýza a nastíněn možný budoucí vývoj. Práce se také zabývá obdobím po Brexitu a analyzuje možné nastavení vztahů Británie a EU v budoucnu.

Abstract:

Mutual relationship between Great Britain and the European Union was shaped for over 40 years as a result of their common interactions. All this time, there were arising many disputes regarding the perception of future integration which was deepening more and more. Eventually, it resulted in Great Britain´s decision to leave the European Union and which happened in June of 2016. The aim of this bachelors thesis is to evaluate the long term importance of the European Union for Great Britain and to what extent both subjects have been interconnected. For the right fulfilling of this task, four different fields from the British economy were chosen and analysed from the long term perspective and the future possible development was outlined. Moreover, the Thesis looks into the period after Brexit and analyses possible relationship settings between Britain and the EU in the future.
