The factory of decorative arts in Třebíč and its place in Gočár's work

Abstract:

Práce si klade za cíl komplexně představit budovu Uměleckoprůmyslových závodů v Třebíči a určit její místo v Gočárově díle. V úvodních kapitolách představí historii uměleckého podniku, osobnost ambiciózního objednavatele i slavného architekta a pokusí se nalézt odpověď na otázku, co stálo za volbou Josefa Gočára. Stěžejní částí práce bude stylový rozbor a důkladná analýza budovy, jejímž cílem bude důsledné zhodnocení stavby po architektonické a umělecké stránce, a to především v kontextu další Gočárovy rondokubistické a post-kubistické tvorby. Nezbytnou součástí rukopisu bude bohatá obrazová dokumentace.

Abstract:

The thesis aims to comprehensively introduce the industrial arts building plants in Trebic and determine its place in Gočárs work. The introductory chapters present the history of artistic enterprise, the personality of an ambitious client and famous architect and tries to answer the question, what was behind the choice of Josef Gočár. The main section will be stylish and thorough analysis of the building, consistent with the objective of improving a building from an architectural and artistic side, especially in the context of other Gočárs rondo-cubist and post-cubist works. An essential part of the manuscript will be rich visual documentation.
