Pricing Policies of Prague Hotels Focused on Luxury Hotel Market

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat rozsah pojmu „luxusní hotel“ v pražském hotelovém prostředí, nalézt faktory ovlivňující cenotvorbu místního luxusního hotelu a navrhnout možnosti pro zlepšení prodejní efektivity hotelu President. Práce je rozdělená do tří základních částí. První část tvoří teoreticko-metodologický základ a zabývá se specifiky luxusních hotelů v oblasti služby, historického vývoje, klasifikačních systémů, poptávky a moderních přístupů cenové politiky. V této části je využita především zahraniční literatura a vědecké výzkumy provedené na související témata. Druhá, analytická část práci lokalizuje do pražského prostředí a primárně je zaměřena na pražské luxusní hotely President a Savic. V návaznosti na zjištěné výsledky analytické části jsou v třetí části práce představeny autorovy návrhy a doporučení ke zlepšení současného standardu služeb hotelu President a s tím souvisejících změn na úrovni cenové politiky a obchodní strategie.

Abstract:

The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the scope of the term “luxury hotel” in the Prague hotel environment in order to identify the factors that influence the pricing policy of a local luxury hotel and to propose options to increase sales efficiency in the President Hotel. It is divided into three basic parts. The first part consists of a theoretical and methodological basis and deals with the specifics of luxury hotels at the levels of service, historical development, classification systems, demand, and modern pricing policy approaches. This part is primarily focused on foreign literature and scientific researches on the related topics. The second analytical part takes the dissertation to the local level of the Prague environment and primarily focuses on the Prague luxury hotels, the President and the Savic. In dependence on findings of the analytical part, the third part presents author's proposals and recommendations leading to improvements of the current level of services of the President Hotel and related changes in its pricing policy and the business strategy.
