The issue of procrastination among students of the faculty of Education at Masaryk University

Abstract:

Diplomová práce, Problematika prokrastinace u studentů Pedagogické fakulty Masarykovy inuverzity, v teoretické části popisuje vývoj slova prokrastinace a historii tohoto poměrně novodobého jevu. Dále se zabývá širokou škálou forem prokrastinace a jejím rozšířením v obecné rovině a na akademické půdě. V neposlední řadě popisuje také metody, kterými se dá prokrastinace měřit. Samozřejmě neopomíná ani na vnitřní a vnější motivaci jedince, která je spjatá s prokrastinací. Závěrem uvádí metody terapeutických terapií zaměřených na eliminaci prokrastinačních tendencí u studentů. Praktická část je založena na výzkumu Layovy škály prokrastinace mezi studenty Pedagogické fakulty Masarykovy inuverzity (Procrastination Scale for Student Population, Lay, 1986) a porovnání výsledků s informacemi v teoretické části.

Abstract:

The thesis, The Issue of Procrastination Among Students of the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University, is theoretically described via an evolution words procrastination and history of this relatively modern phenomenon. It also deals with a wide scale of forms of procrastination and its expansion in general and on academic surroundings. Finally, it also described methods by which you can measure the procrastination. Of course, does not forget even for internal and external motivation of the individual, which is connected witch procrastination. The conclusion then present the methods of therapeutic treatments focused at elimination of procrastinating behavior among students. The practical part is based on research Lay scale of procrastination among students of the Pedagogical Faculty of Masaryk University (Procrastination Scale for Student Population, Lay, 1986) and comparing the results with the information in the theoretical part.
