Modern internal audit application

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vyhodnocením výkonu a dynamiky jeho vývoje u interního auditu v období dynamických technologických, inovačních, produktových změn v druhém desetiletí 21. století a to v prostředí univerzální banky, situované v České Republice. Publikací na téma nutnosti změn a inovací v různých odvětvích z důvodu příchodu technologické revoluce existuje bezesporu mnoho, většinou však dílem velmi obecných, dílem velmi cíleně zaměřených. Cílem této práce bylo na konkrétním příkladu u svým způsobem jedinečné funkce, tj. interního auditu, prokázat, zda a jakým způsobem se tento již etablovaný obor v jednom z nejvíce konzervativních odvětví přizpůsobil novým výzvám, ať už v oblasti využívání datové analýzy, zjednodušování procesů, úsporou nákladů či zvyšováním přidané hodnoty svým zákazníkům, ať už u vedení banky či u jejích zaměstnanců či u regulatorních orgánů. K prokázání výše uvedeného byly použity metody dotazníkového šetření, analýzy procesů, analýzy výstupů a produkce interního auditu a interview s klíčovými zaměstnanci u sledované banky.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the performance and dynamics of development of the internal audit functions in the period of dynamic technological, innovation and product changes in the second decade of the 21st century, particularly in environment of a universal bank located in the Czech Republic. Regarding relevant the publication in the area of the necessity for change and innovation in the various sectors due to the arrival of the technological revolution, there were undoubtedly many issued, however, either very general or too much targeted in the particular sector. The aim of theses was to demonstrate whether and how the already established function, i.e. internal audit, in one of the most conservative industries, has adapted to new challenges, particularly in areas of data analysis using, processes simplification or adding value to its customers, i.e. to the management of the bank and to its employees or to regulatory bodies. Questionnaire survey, processes analysis, analysis of internal audit performance methods and outputs and interview with key employees at the monitored bank were used to demonstrate the above mentioned.
