Quality Care Management at the Psychiatric Hospital in Opava Focusing on Reducing the Incidence of Unwanted Events

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou managementu kvality zdravotní péče v Psychiatrické nemocnici v Opavě, se zaměřením na snížení incidence nežádoucích událostí v nemocnici. Téma je pojato ze stránky teoretické, analytické a projektové. Teoretická část se věnuje sledování kvality, její historii. Přibližuje problematiku nežádoucích událostí ve zdravotnictví, dopady nežádoucích událostí do hospodaření poskytovatele zdravotní péče a související legislativu. V praktické části práce je představena Psychiatrická nemocnice v Opavě, je provedena SWOT analýza a Porterova analýza konkurenčního prostředí. Jsou vyčísleny náklady nejčastějšího druhu nežádoucí události v nemocnici a provedeno dotazníkové šetření, zaměřené na tento druh nežádoucí události. Je vypracován projekt na snížení incidence nežádoucích událostí v nemocnici, který je podroben nákladové, časové a rizikové analýze.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of quality management of healthcare in the Psychiatric Hospital in Opava, focusing on reducing the incidence of adverse events in the hospital. The topic is based on theoretical, analytical and project aspects. The theoretical part deals with quality monitoring and its history. It outlines the issue of undesirable events in healthcare and their impacts on the healthcare provider's economy and related legislation. The practical part of the thesis introduces the Psychiatric Hospital in Opava, SWOT analysis and Porter's analysis of the competitive environment is made. The costs of the most common type of adverse events in a hospital are quantified and a questionnaire survey focused on this kind of adverse event is done. Also there has been a project developed to reduce the incidence of adverse events in the hospital which is subjected to cost, time and risk analysis.
