Working values

Abstract:

My diploma thesis deals with working values, with typologies of them and with the pattern, how these work values are divided across generations. I focused on generations, which are active at the labor market right now: on generation baby boomers, generation X and generation Y. This work was dived into four parts. The first unit is about the issue of values and their purpose by the work with human resources and issue of typologies of these values. In this part, I also tried to inform you about current knowledge from the field of study of generations and their values. In the second part I described methodology used in my thesis. In third part I presented outputs from my analysis and I also described the way, how I chose to get these outputs. In the research, I used the secondary analysis of dates from The International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), where I used advanced statistical method (specifically Factor analysis). In the last unit, I discussed, how can be interpreted factors and other outputs from the third part. I discussed also differences between generations and between their factors.

Abstract:

Moja diplomová práca sa zaoberá pracovnými hodnotami, typmi týchto pracovných hodnôt a to ako sú tieto hodnoty a ich typy rozložené naprieč generáciami, ktoré sú aktívne na súčasnom pracovnom trhu. Skúmala som tak generáciu baby boomers, generáciu X a generáciu Y . Práca bola rozložená na štyri časti. Prvý diel sa venovala problematike uchopenia hodnôt, pracovných hodnôt a ich typológiám. V tejto časti som sa však snažila aj informovať o súčasných poznatkoch z oblasti skúmania generácií a ich hodnôt. V druhej časti popisujem metodologický postup. V treťom diely zas prezentujem závery a spôsob, akým som k nim došla. Konkrétne som si zvolila sekundárnu analýzu dát The International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), s tým, že som využila pokročilé štatistické metódy (konkrétne faktorovú analýzu). V poslednej časti tak nakoniec vediem diskusiu o tom, ako možno interpretovať získané faktory z predchádzajúcej časti a aké rozdiely medzi generáciami na základe tejto interpretácie môžeme nájsť a čím môžu byť dané rozdiely vysvetlené.
