Prevention of Specific Learning Disabilities in Preschool Children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce byla zaměřena na analýzu v oblasti prevence specifických poruch učení u předškolních dětí. Cílem bylo zmapování úrovně informovanosti rodičů předškolních dětí o specifických poruchách učení a zmapování hereditarní zátěže v rodinách předškolních dětí. Bakalářská práce byla rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část prezentovala problematiku a teorii související s pojmy specifických poruch učení, jejich příčiny, projevy, diagnostiku, možnosti reedukace a kompenzace těchto poruch, počínaje historií až po genetické spojitosti. Praktická část byla zaměřena na realizaci průzkumu a interpretaci výsledků v oblasti  informovanosti rodičů v problematice specifických poruch učení a mapování hereditární zátěže v rodinách. Stanovené předpoklady byly ověřovány pomocí dotazníkové metody. Dotazníkovou formou byly rovněž zkoumány důvody doporučených odkladů povinné školní docházky dětí před jejich nástupem do školy a náhledy rodičů na tuto problematiku. Výsledky šetření byly prezentovány pomocí grafů a tabulek. V závěru práce jsou uvedena konkrétní navrhovaná opatření, se kterými budou respondenti seznámeni a rovněž i mateřské školy, které umožnily kontakt s rodiči předškolních dětí. Přínos bakalářské práce je také v jejím dalším využití navrhovaného preventivního programu v mateřské škole.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is focused on analysis in the field of prevention of specific learning disorders in preschool children. The aim of the thesis was to determine the level of awareness of preschool childrens' parents concerning specific learning disorders, as well as to map hereditary predispositions in the preschool childrens' families. The thesis was divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part presented the issue and theory related to the concept of specific learning disorders, their causes, symptoms, diagnostics, and possible ways of reeducation and compensation of those disorders, starting from the history up to genetic links. Practical part was focused on implementation of a survey and on evaluation of the results in the field of parents' awareness of the specific learning disorders subject and mapping hereditary predispositions in families. Established assumptions were verified by questionnaires. Questionnaires were also used to examine the reasons for recommended delay in compulsory school attendance, prior to children joining the compulsory school attendance, and their parents' views on this issue. Charts and tables were used to present the results of the survey. A specific recommended measures which will be communicated to the survey respondents, as well as a list of kindergartens which provided a contact with the parents of preschool children, are indicated at the end of the thesis. The contribution of this thesis is also in further use of its proposed preventive programme for kindergartens.
