The thesis analyses the impact of type 1 diabetes mellitus on the ocular lens density. The theoretical part of the thesis summarises basic information about diabetes mellitus and describes the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiological processes in the crystalline lens in relation to diabetes mellitus. Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou vplyvu ochorenia diabetes mellitus 1. typu na denzitu očnej šošovky. Teoretická časť práce zahŕňa základné poznatky o ochorení diabetes mellitus a popisuje anatómiu, fyziológiu a patofyziologické procesy v očnej šošovke, v súvislosti s ochorením diabetes mellitus.
