The aim of the thesis is to compare three translations of the play The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare and point out the similarities and differences between these translations. Cílem této bakalářské práce je srovnání tří překladů divadelní hry Benátský kupec od Williama Shakespeara, a poukázat na podobnosti či rozdíly mezi těmito překlady. Pro tento účel byli vybráni překladatelé Erik Adolf Saudek, Martin Hilský a Jiří Josek. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, teoretické a praktické části.
