Compatibility of interests of NATO and member state Turkey in Syrian conflict: evaluation and prediction

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá určením kompatibility zájmů tří význačných aktéru – Francouzské republiky, Turecké republiky a Spojených států amerických – které spojuje společné členství v bezpečnostní organizaci zvané Severoatlantická aliance, v syrském konfliktu. Jejím výstupem je určení míry slučitelnosti těchto zájmů. Práce se nejdříve zaměřuje na historii syrského konfliktu, navazuje deskripcí pozic, jaké jednotlivý akteří zaujímají v Alianci a následně se zabývá jejich zájmy. Předložená studie pro své cíle využívá metody komparace, na základě které je určeno pět dimenzí, které mezi sebou autorka vzájemně porovnává. Druhá část práce je opřena o tvorbu scénářů možné budoucnosti, dalšího vývoje syrského konfliktu a dopadu na zájmy Aliance, studie dává vzniknout celkem třem takovým predikcím. Na základě těchto předpovědí může Aliance určit svůj další postup v oblasti.

Abstract:

This work is trying to set the compatibility of interest in syrian conflict between three important players – the French Republic, the Turkish Republic and the United States of America – they are linked together with a membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The goal of this work is to set a possible compatibility of interest. First of all the work is concentrating on the history of syrian conflict, after it moves to the description of positions of each player in NATO and then it analyses their interests. This work for its goals use the comparative method, according to this method five dimensions is being set for the final comparation. Second part of the study is working with the future forecasting of the next development in syrian conflict and its impact on NATO’s interests, three possible future forms are being set in the work. On the base of this predictions NATO may establish its next strategy in area.
