The main purpose of this thesis is to show how much the Czech lexicon has been enriched by the terms borrowed from the English language. The work is divided into two parts. Hlavním účelem této diplomové práce bylo ukázat, do jaké míry je česká slovní zásoba obohacována výrazy přejatými z angličtiny. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část popisuje historii procesu přejímání a adaptace, jimiž cizí přejímky prochází. Praktická část analyzuje dva časopisy pro mládež ? ABC a Bravo Girl!
