Alternatives to measuring GDP

Abstract:

Vykazují alternativní ukazatele ekonomického vývoje navržené ekonomy tzv. Rakouské školy, totožné růstové trendy, jako hrubý domácí produkt (dále jen "HDP")? Práce, využívá alternativních ukazatelů Private Product Remaining (dále jen "PPR") a Gross Output (dále jen "GO"). Práce vyhodnocuje sekundární data národní politiky, která byla získána ze stránek českého statistického úřadu. Pomocí dat byly následně vypočítány hodnoty PPR a GO pro roky 2009 až 2018. Hodnoty alternativních ukazatelů byly dále převedeny na meziroční přírůstky a porovnány s HDP. Z výsledků porovnání bylo zjištěno, že alternativní ukazatele prokazují větší volatilitu a v některých letech vykazovaly opačný růstový trend. Práci využijí převážně lidé zajímající se o ekonomický vývoj České republiky. Je možné, že výsledky této práce mohou být motivací k hledání nových ukazatelů ekonomického vývoje zvlášť v době blížící se ekonomické krize, spojené s onemocněním Covid-19, kdy je HDP pod drobnohledem.

Abstract:

Do the alternative indicators of economic development of the proposed economy of the so-called Austrian school show the same growth trends as Gross domestic product? Labor, work with alternative indicators named private product remain and gross output. The thesis evaluates the secondary data of national policy, which was obtained from the website of the Czech Statistical Office. Using the data, the values of PPR and GO for the years 2009 to 2018 were calculated. The values of alternative indicators were further converted into year-on-year increases and compared with GDP. The results of the comparison showed that alternative indicators show greater volatility and in some years showed the opposite growth trend. The work will be used mainly by people interested in the economic development of the Czech Republic. It is possible that the results of this work may be a motivation to search for new indicators of economic development, especially in the time of impending economic crisis, associated with the disease Covid-19, when GDP is under scrutiny.
