Cynicism

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá kynismem jako filozofickým směrem, jehož představitelé a principy měly vliv na následující myšlení a literaturu. První kapitola se věnuje Sokratovi a jeho odkazu v kynismu. Dále jsou rozebírány malé sokratovské školy, mezi které patří škola megarská a kyrénská. Analyzována je škola kynická a její základní principy. Další část se zaměřuje na záznamy o kynismu, jeho historické kontexty a významné postavy jako Antisthenés, Diogenes ze Sinopy, Kratés z Théb a Hipparchia. Následují kapitoly věnované kritice kynismu. Část práce se orientuje na vliv kynismu na pozdější myšlení v oblasti filozofie, etiky a literatury. Následně se práce zabývá vlivem kynismu na pozdější myšlení v oblasti filozofie, etiky a literatury. Důraz je kladen na vazby mezi kynismem a stoicismem, Jean-Jacquesem Rousseauem atd. Závěrečná část bakalářské práce shrnuje klíčové poznatky a závěry z provedené analýzy.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis explores Cynicism as a philosophical movement, whose representatives and principles influenced subsequent thought and literature. The first chapter focuses on Socrates and his legacy within Cynicism. Further, the minor Socratic schools, such as the Megarian and Cyrenaic schools, are discussed. The Cynic school and its fundamental principles are analyzed. The next section delves into records of Cynicism, its historical contexts, and significant figures such as Antisthenes, Diogenes of Sinope, Crates of Thebes, and Hipparchia. Subsequent chapters are dedicated to criticism of Cynicism. A portion of the thesis examines the influence of Cynicism on later thought in the realms of philosophy, ethics, and literature. Consequently, the thesis explores the impact of Cynicism on subsequent thought in the fields of philosophy, ethics, and literature. Emphasis is placed on the connections between Cynicism and Stoicism, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, etc. The concluding section of the bachelor's thesis summarizes the key findings and conclusions drawn from the analysis conducted.
