The tradition of the Aztec religion and culture in the past and in the present

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the Aztec religion and culture in the past and in the present. The work is divided into two parts: a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the origin and occurrence of the Aztecs, then with their religion, the most important gods, rituals and culture that includes architecture, ballgame, sculpture, music, language, Nahuatl and the Day of the Dead known as Día de Muertos. In the practical part we study the results of the survey that deals with the knowledge and perception of Aztec culture and religion in the contemporary Mexico. From the results of this survey, we have found out that most Mexicans know the history of their ancestors and some of them are even proud of their origins. At the same time they are interested in the Aztec culture and try to preserve its traditions in order to pass it on to future generations.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá aztéckým náboženstvím a kulturou v minulosti a v současné době. Práce je rozdělená do dvou části: část teoretická a část praktická. V teoretické části se zabýváme původem a výskytem Aztéků, dále jejich náboženstvím, nejvýznamnější bohy, rituály a kulturou, která zahrnuje architekturu, míčovou hru, sochařství, hudbu, jazyk náhuatl a svátek mrtvých známý jako Día de Muertos. V praktické části zkoumáme výsledky průzkumu, který se zabývá znalostí a vnímáním aztécké kultury a náboženství v současném Mexiku. Z výsledků tohoto průzkumu jsem zjistili, že většina Mexičanů zná historii svých předků a někteří z nich jsou dokonce hrdí na svůj původ. Zároveň se zajímají o aztéckou kulturu a snaží se zachovávat její tradice aby je mohli předat budoucím generacím.
