New type of artist: contemporary Slovak artists working with artificial intelligence.

Abstract:

The master’s thesis deals with an emerging type of art, i.e. art made by an artificial intelligence. It discusses the evolution of computer art in the world as well as in the Czech republic and in Slovakia. The names and works of two world artists in the field of artificial intelligence art are also presented. However, the main focus of the thesis is on contemporary Slovak artists working with the theme of artificial intelligence and their specific works. The thesis describes the urge for the emergence of a new kind of artist as well as curator. The attempt to take an objective position on the topic of artificial intelligence in arts is reflected at the end of the thesis in a comparison of its strengths and weaknesses.

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práca sa zaoberá novovznikajúcim druhom umenia, t.j. umením vytvoreným umelou inteligenciou. Rozoberá vznik počítačového umenia vo svete ako aj v Česku a na Slovensku. Predstavení sú rovnako aj dvaja svetoví umelci na poli umenia vytvoreného umelou inteligenciou. Hlavná pozornosť je však zameraná na súčasných slovenských umelcov, ktorí s témou umelej inteligencie pracujú a na ich konkrétne diela. Práca opisuje potrebu vzniku nového druhu umelca i kurátora. Snaha o objektívne postavenie sa k téme umelej inteligencie v umení sa odzrkadľuje na konci práce v porovnávaní jej silných a slabých stránok.
