Enemy, unemployment, nonsense: negated nouns in the SYN version 8 corpus

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na výzkum negovaných substantiv v různě klasifikovaných českých textech (publicistika, beletrie, oborová literatura). Bádání je založeno na práci s českým jazykovým korpusem SYN verze 8. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí: nejprve jsou představeny základní termíny a Český národní korpus, druhá část je zaměřena na tři analýzy (skupinová, muži versus ženy, diachronní). Cílem práce je zjistit zastoupení negovaných substantiv v různých typech textů a interpretovat významy a kontexty nejfrekventovanějších z nich.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the research of negated nouns in variously classified Czech texts (journalism, fiction, specialized literature). The research is based on the SYN version 8 Czech language corpus. The thesis consists of two parts: the first part introduces basic terms and the Czech National Corpus and the second part focuses on three analyses (the group, men-versus-women, and diachronic ones). The aim of the thesis is to find out the representation of negated nouns in different types of texts and to interpret meanings and contexts of the most frequent of them.
