The Most Common Grammatical and Stylistic Errors in Translations of Company Presentations

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis represents my research into common mistakes in translations of Czech companies that appear in their company presentations designed to be presented on the Internet. The main objective of this thesis is not to deliver a thorough linguistic anlysis of errors, as it is not in the scope of this thesis and would require a higher professional approach. It rather concentrates on the most frequent and most obvious errors that might be noticed by the target reader, who may not be a native speaker but an advanced learner. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá nejběžnějšími chybami v překladech firemních presentací českých firem přístupných na internetových stránkách. Hlavním cílem bylo vyhledání nejčastějších druhů chyb, kterých by si potencionální čtenář všiml a rozdělení těchto chyb na lexikální a gramatické. Tyto dvě jazykové kategorie byly dále rozděleny do podkapitol na základě nalezených druhů chyb. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část.
