Anotácia:

Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje problematiku kyberbezpečnostních hrozeb vůči digitální infrastruktuře, pomocí výzkumné otázky “Jaké univerzálně aplikovatelné opatření mohou společnosti použít na ochranu svojí digitální infrastruktury před kybernetickými hrozbami?” Teoretická část práce začíná definicemi klíčových pojmů používaných v celém rozsahu práce, a pokračuje přehledem nejrozšiřenejších druhů kyberbezpečnostních hrozeb, kde popisuje jejich mechanismy, jími využívané zranitelnosti a způsobované typy narušení bezpečnosti dat, a známé bezpečnostní opatření, které jsou proti těmto hrozbám efektivní. V teoretické části následuje detailní popis těchto a dalších existujících opatření, s vysvětlením jejich dopadu na kybernetickou bezpečnost a druhů hrozeb, před kterými chrání infrastrukturu. Na konci teorie je podkapitola o nedávných vývojích v kybernetické bezpečnosti, zaměřena na technologie ve vývoji, které s vysokou pravděpodobností ovlivní obor kybernetické bezpečnosti. V praktické časti práce jsou dvě případové studie reálných kybernetických útoků používajících techniky uvedené v teoretické části. Tyto útoky jsou analyzovány do detailu z hlediska mechanismu použitého malwaru, zranitelností umožňující proniknutí, typu narušení bezpečnosti dat a dopadu útoků na jejich cíle. Po případových studiích nasleduje porovnání útoků a návrhy na univerzálně aplikovatelné bezpečnostní opatření zodpovídající výzkumnou otázku.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis analyzes the problem of cybersecurity threats against digital infrastructure, through the research question of “What generally applicable measures can a company take to protect its digital infrastructure against cybersecurity threats?”. Its theoretical part starts with definitions of key terms used throughout the thesis, and continues with an overview of the most prevalent types of cybersecurity threats, where it describes their mechanisms, the vulnerabilities they try to exploit, the types of data breaches they cause and common defensive measures known to be effective against them. A description of common defensive measures follows, explaining how they improve cybersecurity and what threats they protect against. The theoretical part finishes with a subchapter about recent developments in cybersecurity, focusing on emerging technologies most likely to change the field. The practical part contains two case studies of major cyberattacks that were performed using the threats mentioned in the theoretical part, analyzing in detail the specifics of the particular attack – the malware used to perform it, the vulnerabilities taken advantage of, the type of security breach that occurred and the impact of the attack on the targets. A comparison of the analyzed attacks follows, and a set of sequential suggestions is provided to answer the research question.
