Práce se zabývá čtyřmi českými překlady Čekání na Godota se zvláštním zřetelem na cestu překladu na divadelní scény. Za pomoci dostupných archiválií a na základě setkání s překladateli a dramaturgy se snaží zkoumat, jakou roli má překlad v rámci inscenace. Práce sestává ze dvou částí: úvodní a analytické. Abstract:
The thesis deals with the four Czech translations of Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett focusing on the process of staging the texts. Consulting the documents and materials available in the theatre archives and professionals who had taken part in the staging of the Czech Godots, the thesis reveals peculiar stories behind the productions.
