About The Function Of Proper Nouns Used In American Films And Translated Into Czech And German Languages (Disney Cars)

Abstract:

In this Bachelor work I am concerned with the proper names in the animated Disney film Cars. I compare how the proper names are translated from the original English into Czech and German. In the theoretical part of the work I describe the science of onomastics, which belongs to a sub-discipline of lexicology. I devote one chapter to the translation ge-nerally, because the translation of Anglicisms plays an important part in my work. In the practical part I mention a little information about the Disney Company and the film The Cars. This part also contains a table with the shapes of proper names in three languages and a chapter which deals with methods used to translate these proper names.

Abstract:

In dieser Bachelorarbeit beschäftige ich mich mit den Eigennamen im Animationsfilm von Disney Cars und vergleiche, wie diese Eigennamen aus dem englischen Original ins Tschechische und Deutsche übersetzt wurden. Im theoretischen Teil wird die Onomastik beschrieben, eine Wissenschaft, die sich mit den Eigennamen befasst und eine Teildisziplin der Lexikologie darstellt. Da in der vorliegenden Arbeit die Übersetzung der Anglizismen eine wichtige Rolle spielt, wird ein Kapitel der allgemeinen Übersetzung gewidmet. Im praktischen Teil erwähne ich kurz das Unternehmen Disney und den Film Cars. Dieser Teil umfasst weiterhin eine Tabelle mit den Formen von Eigennamen in drei Sprachen sowie ein Kapitel, das die verwendeten Übersetzungsverfahren von Eigennamen thematisiert.
