The Role of Economics in the Global Warming Theory

Abstract:

Tato práce představuje téma ekonomie globálního oteplování a poskytuje základní přehled o roli ekonomie v teorii globálního oteplování. Na základě vývoje politik globálního oteplování a široké definice samotného globálního oteplování, práce definuje globální oteplování v ekonomickém pojetí a stručně analyzuje vybrané ekonomické modely globálního oteplování. Jeden konkrétní model zvaný DICE pak podrobuje podrobnější analýze, dotýká se jeho vývoje, hlavních součástí, výsledků a vlivu na politiky globálního oteplování. Struktura práce by měla čtenáři umožnit si udělat představu o minulosti, současnosti a budoucnosti základních složek podmiňujících roli ekonomie v teorii globálního oteplování.

Abstract:

This thesis introduces the topic of global warming economics and provides a basic overview of the role of economics in the global warming theory. Based on the evolution of the global warming policies and the broad definition of the global warming issue, it defines the global warming in the economic terms and briefly analyzes selected economic models of global warming. One model in particular, the DICE model, is subject a more detailed analysis of its evolution, major components and results as well as the impact on global warming policies. The structure of the thesis should enable the reader to gain an overall idea on the past, current and future elements of the role of economics in the theory of global warming.
