Abstract:

Výzkumným tématem mé práce je analýza životního stylu a spotřební kultury ovlivněné komunistickým režimem v poválečném Československu (konkrétně po roce 1960). Budu zkoumat, jakým způsobem se v naší historii spotřební kultura a životní styl vyvíjel, kdy a jak konzumní život tak, jak ho známe dnes, vůbec započal a v jakém rozsahu byl skutečně ovlivňován tehdejším politickým režimem. Rovněž se pozastavím nad otázkou vývoje sociální struktury, tedy jakým způsobem se měnily sociální třídy a jejich zastoupení v české společnosti. Pokusím se zodpovědět otázku všeobecné spokojenosti a jaký vliv na ní měl právě životní styl za komunismu. Abych snáze pronikla do dané problematiky, zvolila jsem si metodu rozvíjejícího se kvalitativního výzkumu. Využiju techniky polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a vlastní studii dokumentů spojených s tématem mého výzkumu. Získané poznatky doplním o informace, čerpané z výstavy Obrazy konců dějin (Česká vizuální kultura 1985-1995) a retroseriálu Vyprávěj. Výsledkem výzkumu by měl být systematický přehled kazuistik s vyhodnocením mé základní výzkumné otázky – jak ovlivňoval komunistický režim běžný život v poválečné ČSSR?

Abstract:

The research topic of my diploma thesis is the analysis of lifestyle and consumer culture influenced by the communist regime in post-war socialistic Czechoslovakia (specifically after 1960). I will examine how consumer culture and lifestyle have evolved in our history, when and how consumer life (as we know it today) began in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, to what extent it was really influenced by the then political regime and major historical events. I will also consider the question of the development of the social structure, how the social classes and their representation in Czech society have changed. I will try to answer the question of social satisfaction, and what influence the lifestyle under communism had on it. In order to more easily penetrate the issue, I chose the method of evolving qualitative research. I will use the techniques of semi-structured interviews and my own study of documents related to the topic of my research. I will supplement the acquired knowledge with information drawn from the exhibition called Paintings of the Ends of History (Czech Visual Culture 1985-1995) and the retroserie Vyprávěj. The result of the research should be a systematic, chronological overview of case studies with an evaluation of my basic research question - how did the communist regime affect ordinary life in the post-war Czechoslovakia?
