The level of social desirability according to emotional skills of adolescents

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá emoční inteligencí a desirabilitou u dospívající mládeže. V teoretické části je vymezen pojem desirabilita od zahraničních autorů, který je charakterizován jako žádoucnost, tedy prezentace člověka v pozitivním světle. Dále jsou zde popsány nástroje měření sociální desirability, mezi které patří Edwardsova škála sociální desirability (SD scale), Marlowe-Crowne škála sociální desirability a Dotazník sociálně žádoucího chování (BIDR). Další kapitoly jsou věnovány pojmům adolescence a emoce, kde je popsán fyzický, kognitivní a sociální vývoj adolescentů a funkce, druhy a oblast vztahu emocí. Část práce je věnována emoční inteligenci, kde popisuje dovednosti, jako sebeuvědomění, zvládání emocí, sociální povědomí a řízení vztahů. Cílem praktické části je zjistit těsnost vztahu emoční inteligence a desirability. Bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření, získaná data byla zpracována a výsledky popsané v příslušné kapitole. V závěru výzkumného šetření bylo zjištěno, že existuje těsnost vztahu mezi emoční inteligenci a desirabilitou.

Abstract:

This graduation thesis deals with emotional intelligence and desirability among teenagers. In the theoretical part is defined the concept of desirability from foreign authors, which is characterized as a desirability, i.e. presentation of a person in positive way. There are described social desirability tools such as Edwards Social Desirability scale, Marlow Crowne Social Desirability scale and Balanced Inventory of Desirable Responding. Further chapters are devoted to the concepts of adolescence and emotion, which describe the physical, cognitive and social development of adolescents and the functions, types and areas of the emotional relationship. Part of the thesis is about emotional intelligence, describing skills such as self-awareness, emotional management, social awareness and relationship management. The aim of the practical part is to determine the tightness of the relationship between emotional intelligence and desirability. A questionnaire survey was carried out, the obtained data were processed and the results were demonstrated in the relevant chapter. At the conclusion of the research, it was found that there is a tight relationship between emotional intelligence and desirability.
