Evaluation of the quality of breeding bulls used in the breeding of limousine cattle

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vyhodnocením kvality plemenných býků v chovu limousinského plemene skotu. Vyhodnocení probíhalo na rodinné farmě Stanislav Klu-sáček, pro které je plemeno limousine prioritou a tvoří 75 % stáda. Na této farmě jsou využíváni býci jak v přirozené plemenitbě, tak inseminační dávky výhradně od francouzských býků.V hodnocení je zahrnuto celkem 55 telat, 27 matek a 6 plemenných býků. Dva býci byli na farmě používáni v přirozené plemenitbě a od čtyř býků byly použity inseminační dávky. Hodnocena byla hmotnost při narození, hmotnost ve 120, 210 a 365 dnech stáří telat, průměrné denní přírůstky od narození do 120, do 210 a do 365 dní, průměrné den-ní přírůstky od 120 do 210 dní, od 120 do 365 dní a od 210 do 365 dní, výška v kříži měřená ve věku 210 dní, vliv roku a pohlaví na hmotnost telat a počet telat vybraných do plemenitby. Hodnocení bylo provedeno v letech 2014–2017.Statisticky průkazný rozdíl (p <0,05) byl zjištěn při hodnocení vlivu plemeníka na hmotnost telat ve věku 120, 210 a 365 dní, při hodnocení vlivu plemeníka na přírůstky (p <0,05), (p <0,01) a u vlivu plemeníka na hmotnost jalovic (p <0,01). Ve všech těchto ukazatelích bylo nejlépe hodnoceno potomstvo po býkovi jménem Artur. U Vlivu matky na hmotnost, přírůstky a výšku telat je statisticky průkazné (p <0,05). Telata od krav dosahovala ve všech případech lepších výsledků než telata od jalovic. Vyhodnocení vlivu roku a pohlaví na hmotnost telat je statisticky průkazné (p <0,01) a (p <0,05). Nejvyšší hmotnost měla telata v roce 2017. Při hodnocení vlivu pohlaví na hmotnost telat dosahovali vyšší hmotnosti býčci. Vyhodnocením těchto ukazatelů bylo zjištěno, že potomci po býcích použitých v přirozené plemenitbě dosahovali lepších výsledků než potomci po býcích, u kterých byly použity inseminační dávky.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the quality of breeding bulls used in the breeding of Limousine cattle. The evaluation took place on the family farm of Stanislav Klusáček, for which the Limousine breed is a priority and makes up 75 % of the herd. On this farm they use bulls, both from natural breeding and insemination doses from French bulls only.The evaluation includes a total of 55 calves, 27 mothers and 6 breeding bulls. Two bulls were used on the farm for natural breeding and four bulls for the insemination do-ses. Throughout this thesis, the following were evaluated: weight at birth, weight at 120, 210 and 365 days old, average daily growth from birth to 120, to 210 and to 365 days, average daily growth from 120 to 210 days, from 120 to 365 days, and from 210 to 365 days, height in the cross was measured at 210 days. Furthermore the influence of year and sex on weight of calves and number of calves selected for breeding was evaluated. The evaluation took place from 2014 to 2017.A statistically significant difference (p <0.05) was found in the rating of influence of the breeding bull on calf weight at 120, 210, and 365 days, in the rating of the effect of the breeding bull on growth (p <0.05), (p <0.01) and the effect of the breeding bull on heifer weight (p <0.01). In all of these indicators, the offspring of a bull named Ar-thur was best rated. The maternal influence on calves weight, growth and height is sta-tistically significant (p <0.05). Calves had the highest weight in 2017. In evaluating the effect of sex on calves weight, bulls were heavier. The evaluation of these indicators revealed that the offspring of bulls used in natural breeding achieved better results than the offspring of bulls with insemination doses.
